There's No Place Like Home
Yesterday's storm blew up as quickly as a tornado in Kansas...which led to my Wizard of Oz moment. I thought I should let poor ol' Fred in the house, since the wind was rearranging the lawn furniture, but the stupid dog was nowhere to be found. But I stood there at the back door for a while, watching the neighbor's trash blow across the street and into the surrounding yards, and finally Fred appeared. But unfortunately, he was looking in the opposite direction, so he didn't know I was holding the door open for him. And since he's deaf as a doornail, he couldn't hear me screaming his name. So I did what I didn't want to do - I went outside to get him - in the storm. All I had to do was touch him on the back and he turned around and started running toward the house, with me on his heels. The wind was so strong I thought it was going to carry both of us away before me and Toto could get to the door of the storm shelter where Auntie Em and Uncle Henry were waiting.
